McDan Empowers Ghanaian Entrepreneurs to produce Local content Hand sanitizers to Combat COVID-19

In line with the President’s directive to build local capacity of Ghanaians to produce potent drugs and hand sanitisers to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, business mogul and Chairman of the McDan Group/McDan Foundation, Dr. Daniel McKorley, is supporting young, innovative Ghanaian entrepreneurs with funding to develop local formula for the production of hand sanitizers for the African market.

“It is time Ghanaian entrepreneurs, bio chemists, University Dons and Investors come together to find local solution to life threatening global challenge like Corona Virus” Dr McKorley told the media in Accra yesterday at a press briefing.

Over 100 young Ghanaians presented their samples and made a pitch before a Jury Chaired by Dr Daniel McKorley for funding support from the McDan Foundation.

PROCESS:

  1. Screening of entrepreneurs’ proposals and samples.
  2. Referral of samples to a Technical Team for assessment and subsequently to the Food and Drugs Authority for regulatory compliance
  3. Once found viable, funding begins.

Those samples and proposals found viable as per the criteria will be contacted for the needed support.

Dr McKorley is determined to support the Government of Ghana’s agenda to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. He believes this challenge offers opportunity for Ghanaian entrepreneurs to prove their mettle for quality innovative solutions to not only arrest the spread of the virus but also create jobs and wealth for the People.
