McDan Foundation Pledges Support For ‘Men Support Women’s Football’ Carnival

The tennis enthusiast believes all girls and women should be involved in some form of sports.

Mrs. Abigail McKorley who is also CEO of Beebies Events has commended the organisers of the upcoming Extravaganza scheduled for the McDan Park at La on Saturday, January 9, 2021.

Aishatu Zakaria Ali of ETV and Happy FM will be supported by two budding sports journalists to compare the event which involves a football gala by four female clubs and some exhibition by boxers, karate do performers and an acrobat cyclist.

Rising female artiste, Spency Diva will also entertain the invited guests.

Mrs. Mckorley has promised to award a trophy and medals to the winners of the gala.

The President of Women In Sports Association (WISA), Madam Gloria Commodore aka ‘Mama G’ has also promised to honour the winners.

Meanwhile, Liz Mundi, the organizer of the event has thanked all who are supporting her and appealed to Ghanaian men to support Women’s Football and Women’s Sports in general..

McDan Foundation breaks ground for construction of modern shea nut factory

Accra, July 23, GNA- The McDan Foundation breaks ground for the construction of a modern shea nut processing warehouse and factory in Nasia in the Northern region.

Mr Frank Oduro, the Head of the Foundation led the ceremony on behalf of Dr Daniel Mckorley, the Founder and Executive Chairman of McDan Group of Companies.

The Foundation will support the facility with a state-of the-art shea butter processing equipment and a Kia Truck.

The facility due to be completed in three months would cost GHc 550,000 and create over 100 direct and indirect employment for the youth in the community.

The facility is meant for Mr Alhassan Hamza Akoligo, a young entrepreneur who won the maiden Season One McDan Entrepreneurship Challenge in February 2020.

He took home the $100,000 coveted prize money beating nine other finalists to win the prize at the grand finale.

A statement from the Foundation copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra said the gesture was part of the foundation’s corporate social responsibility to empower young entrepreneurs to scale up their business modules.

Alhassan Hamza Akoligo, a young entrepreneur who established Alkoh Shea Butter at Gambaga in the North East Region, has won the Season One of the McDan Entrepreneurship Challenge, taking home the $100,000 coveted prize money.

Each of the nine contestants received GH¢25,000.00 from McDan Foundation, established by Dr Daniel Mckorley, the Founder and Executive Chairman of McDan Group of Companies.

The statement quoted Dr Mckorley resolute support for the next generation of Ghanaian entrepreneurs to grow and expand their businesses.

He advised them to be determined, resilient and disciplined to accomplish their vision of becoming multi-million-dollar entrepreneurs.

He noted that bad attitudes and indiscipline could easily collapse budding businesses since research had shown that out of 100 small-scale enterprises only 10 succeeded in becoming multi-million-dollar ones.

Dr Mckorley entreated young entrepreneurs to be innovative and creative in their dealings to make headway in life and positively impact on the national economy.

Dr Mckorley supports Muslim chiefs as they fast

The CEO of the McDan Group of Companies, Dr Daniel McKorley through his McDan Foundation is supporting some selected chief palaces in the Northern region and Greater Accra with bags of rice as they mark the holy month of Ramadan.

The donation which comes at a total cost of GHC400,000 is a token expressed to Muslim chiefs as part of the McDan Foundation’s Corporate Social Responsibility.

The McDan Foundation has over the year diligently supported communities and vulnerable people in the country most significant building of schools in deprived communities.

This gesture according to Dr McKorley remains critical part of his contribution towards humanity.

The Madina Zongo, Ya Na’s palace in Yendi, Mion palace and the Dakpema Palace where he was skinned as the Gugba Na are part of a tall list to benefit from the foundation’s benevolence.

Dr. Daniel McKorley is noted in Ghana as a business magnate with the McDan Entrepreneurship initiative gaining grounds in the heart of young innovative entrepreneurs.

His continues support for the Ghanaian youth can’t be underestimated. He has invested heavily in youth sports development building modern astro turfs in the country.

The foundation has also visited Nyankpala, Lameshegu, Bamvim, Tolon, Dakpema.

Gulkpe, as well as Mion Lana and Gbewaa palaces.

Coronavirus: McDan Foundation donates 5000 gallons of sanitizers to hospitals, others

The Chairman of the McDan Group of Companies, Mr Daniel McKorley has distributed over 5000 gallons of hand sanitizers to selected hospitals, security agencies, traditional authorities, organisations and communities across the country in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Mr McKorley in partnership with Maxtachem LTD produced 4.5litre gallons of sanitizers made from locally sourced raw materials to come to the aid of several Ghanaians following reported shortages amid the coronavirus pandemic which has hit the country.

Following President Nana Akufo-Addo’s request to have indigenous entrepreneurs and stakeholders produce locally developed hand sanitizers and potent drugs to mitigate the spread of coronavirus, Dr McKorley through his McDan Foundation has responded by teaming up with a local manufacturer to distribute to the public.

In an interview with Graphic Online, Dr Mckorley said it was in the interest of his outfit to help avoid the spread of the global pandemic by applying precautionary measures.

He noted that the sanitizers when put to use would help curb the possible spread of the deadly virus which has seen 24 cases recorded in the country.

“I decided to respect the President’s call by teaming up with Maxtachem LTD to produce hand sanitizers to be distributed to the public and I believe it will help in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic,” Dr McKorley said.

“We are to adhere to the precautionary measures to help avoid the spread and I believe this donation when put to use would help in the course”.

Meanwhile, Dr McKorley has pledged to financially support ten selected entrepreneurs with varied amounts as working capital to produce hand sanitizers in commercial quantities.

These initiatives he believes would support the quest to mitigate the spread of the pandemic and help innovative entrepreneurs to build a sustainable business.
